"ESL through American History and Culture" is much more than a traditional English class: it's a journey through the history, geography, music, food, and cultural icons of the United States.

What will you learn?

Hands-on and interactive

  • Discover key moments in American history and the core values of its Constitution
  • Explore major cities and natural wonders across the U.S.
  • Get to know typical American dishes, fast food culture and eating habits
  • Dive into American pop music, from jazz to hip-hop
  • Learn the basic rules of American football
  • Examine the impact of major U.S. corporations on everyday life
How are lessons structured?

Language instruction meets teamwork

  • Oral presentations and group projects
  • Role-playing and real-life simulations, such as ordering at a fast-food restaurant or planning a holiday
  • Grammar games and language-based challenges
  • Creation of videos and multimedia presentations

Language goals. The course focuses on developing all four core skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, using engaging, culturally themed content.

At the end of the course you'll receive a Certificate of Attendance with your final assessment, a valuable document for academic or personal recognition of your language journey.

The language course is designed and delivered by the Language Department at Felician University, taught by fully qualified and experienced native English-speaking teachers, with small group workshops and dynamic, interactive lessons.
